MERIDIAN
A site for an architecture studio — a strict grid, white space and projects without small talk
What the client came with
The studio wins competitions and builds landmark buildings, but a twelve-year-old website was eating that status alive: projects hid in deep lists and photography was squeezed down to thumbnails.
They needed a manifesto of a site: no aggressive marketing, but an obvious sense of quality — like a good printed portfolio, only alive.
What the studio did
We built the corporate site on a strict modular grid with plenty of air. Every project is a spread: one large photograph, a plan, a short caption, the facts. Nothing else.
Navigation is quiet and predictable, motion is restrained: parallax on the imagery, careful reveals, no effects for the sake of effects.
What the result was made of
Information architecture
We rebuilt the structure around projects rather than sections: typologies, years, statuses. Any building is two clicks away.
A design system of spreads
Six module types that assemble any of the studio’s cases — from a competition concept to a finished building.
Frontend with seamless transitions
Seamless transitions between projects and sections, prefetching of neighbouring spreads and careful handling of large images.
A CMS for the studio team
Editors assemble new projects from ready-made modules without developers — and the structure never falls apart.
