How landing page structure drives conversions

Block by block: the order to show your offer, proof and pricing so visitors reach the form instead of the back button.

The most common reason for weak conversion is neither the design nor the copy — it is the order of the blocks. Visitors decide whether to stay within the first few seconds, and if the first screen does not answer “where am I and what is in it for me”, they simply never scroll further.

Over the past two years we have shipped dozens of landing pages, testing the structure against real leads every time. Here is the layout that consistently works.

The order that sells

The basic sequence is simple: offer → benefits → proof → process → pricing → form. But the devil is in the details: proof must come straight after the promise, not at the bottom of the page, because doubt appears the moment the promise is made.

  • First screen: a one-sentence offer plus one action. No carousels, no three competing buttons.
  • The second block is not “about us” but “what you get”. Tell your own story after the proof.
  • Case studies and numbers go above pricing: the reader should reach the cost already convinced.
  • Keep the form short: name and contact. Every extra field costs you 5–10 % of your leads.

What to check before launch

Run the five-second test: show the first screen to someone outside your field and ask them to describe what is being offered. If their answer does not match your offer, rewrite the headline — not the CTA.

Most importantly, structure is a hypothesis. Add analytics to every block and read the scroll map: the point where people stop is your next growth opportunity.
